The 2020 Festival Program

In 2020, the Daang Dokyu Festival featured 45 films curated into six sections. Following the theme, “Tracing the Filipino Story,” works produced between 1913 and 2020 made for a rich and diverse program that enthused viewers hungry for stories based on lived truths, historical insights, and nuanced realities.

More than a million were reached and hundreds of thousands watched and responded, but it shouldn’t end there. We welcome inquiries for restaging the 2020 Daang Dokyu program. Get in touch here.

A home for
Philippine
documentaries.

By capturing memories across generations, documentaries allow us to see the bigger context: where the finer details of individual works can be viewed as puzzle pieces in an interconnected collection.

In creating a dedicated home for Philippine documentaries, we aim to contribute to the ecosystem of truth-based narratives by increasing the accessibility of information and education about Philippine documentaries, elevating the appreciation of documentaries and its practice, and encouraging the development of a distribution and audience network of documentary works.

At DaangDokyu.ph, the public enjoys access to a rich and continuously growing database that already features over a century’s worth of Philippine documentaries. To promote wider programming and distribution, DaangDokyu.ph also features a private-access library of preview screeners, and channels for programers, advocates and educators to connect directly with filmmakers and producers.
